About This Role:

Powercat Financial is seeking a Program Coordinator who assists with coordinating and administering the center’s financial education services of individual financial counseling and workshop presentations, peer financial counselor program, compilation of program assessment and statistics for Powercat Financial, and other duties as assigned.  The Program Coordinator works with the Director, Graduate Assistant(s) and student staff to help manage the operations of Powercat Financial and performs a variety of program coordination tasks that are non-routine and non-repetitive in nature.  Learn more about Powercat Financial at www.k-state.edu/powercatfinancial.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.  This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.”

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to three years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree in financial planning, business, or related field preferred.
  • Three years of student financial aid/financial literacy experience preferred. CFP, Accredited Financial Counselor or similar designation(s) preferred.
  • Experience in public speaking, creating presentations, social media skills required.
  • Knowledge of college student populations and effective financial education techniques and programs.
  • Knowledge of college student volunteers’ training, recruitment, selection, and recognition. Knowledge of other student affairs departments and services.
  • Knowledge and experience with personal financial planning or financial literacy
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources beneficial to clients
  • Experience working with college student populations
  • Ability to communicate clear and accurate information to students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Proficient and confident public speaker
  • Computer proficiency (PC, Mac, Microsoft Office – Teams, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$44,000 -- $48,000 ($21.15 - $23.08 per hour)
