About This Role:

The Division of Biology is looking to hire a full-time Research Technician to work in the laboratory of Dr. Vanessa Ante. This individual will assist in performing laboratory research activities related to infectious disease projects. Responsibilities include assisting culturing cell lines and bacteria, molecular cloning, generating bacteria strains, and purifying proteins. There will also be opportunities to assist in planning and designing assays, conduct experiments, and analyze and present data. Additional responsibilities include keeping good laboratory records; performing routine equipment maintenance; ordering laboratory reagents, supplies, and equipment; training undergraduates in the laboratory; and maintaining laboratory inventories.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Biology or related field
  • Experience in a BSL-2 research laboratory
  • Experience in bacterial and cell culture

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
