Budget/Fiscal Officer I
About This Role
The university’s shared administrative services seeks a Budget/Fiscal Officer to provide leadership in financial budgeting and management for the administrative units served by the Administrative Support Center (ASC). The Budget Fiscal Officer is responsible for ensuring that funds are budgeted and spent in accordance with state and university fiscal policies. This role involves establishing and maintaining internal controls and procedures, accurately recording and reporting transactions, performing monthly account reconciliations, and communicating financial and budgeting impact of HR changes. The officer will work closely with the university’s budget office to ensure compliance with organizational structures for tracking revenues, commitments, and expenditures. The position will also involve conducting fiscal analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement in financial administration across various units. This role supports strategic procurement initiatives across the units they serve.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference given to degrees in finance, accounting, or closely related field.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in budgeting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, discretion and sensitivity to confidentiality.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Desire for continuous improvement.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
