Academic Program Specialist

About This Role

This position is a member of the Student Services unit within the Office of the Registrar and utilizes a teamwork approach as a lead the transcript operations and records management to ensure that the office is providing quality service while adhering to University policies and procedures. Comprehensive management of the Parchment on-line transcript ordering system; creation of university-wide distribution of graduation/commencement; correct history of audited records; coordination of daily tasks of the area; and serving as primary liaison between the office and student community. Assists the Student Programs Coordinator, Manager, and Assistant Registrar in planning and monitoring improvements to the area.

As the official purveyor of student academic information, the integrity of all student records is maintained by the Office of the Registrar from the time of matriculation to beyond graduation as enrollment continues as part of the lifelong learning process.

Worksite Option

This position is hybrid. 

This role is expected to be performed on-site three days a week.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Requires a high school diploma and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. Five years general office experience utilizing systems such as e-mail, phone, fax, software platforms (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc…)
  3. Higher Education/post-secondary experience: Two years progressively responsible experience in Enrollment Management (Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar) or experiences directly related area of expertise that interacts with the business processes handled by these offices.
  4. Knowledge of student records maintenance, registration/enrollment processes, degree and graduation processes, and verification procedures.
  5. Experience working with multiple policies and procedures, including university, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  6. Working knowledge of Student Information Systems platform(s) - i.e. PeopleSoft/Oracle, u.achieve/DARS, Imaging (Perceptive/ImageNow), National Student Clearinghouse, etc.…
  7. Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations, making decisions as well as grasp new techniques and updates to products/processes quickly.
  8. Experience working with a variety of populations along with providing training and technical development, public speaking, presentations, customer service in higher education-related areas.

Other Requirements:

  • Notary Public may be required depending on needs and staffing within the Office.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
