Assistant Director of Hospitality and Events
About This Role
K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Director of Hospitality and Events, which is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.
An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:
- Assist in managing preparation of all premium spaces for football season.
- Prepare and manage Shamrock Zone club and suites for football gamedays.
- Assist in coordinating season and gameday menus for football, basketball, and baseball.
- Oversee, plan, and prepare premium spaces for men’s basketball and women’s basketball gamedays.
- Manage communication and food/beverage orders with men’s and women’s basketball premium ticket holders.
- Assist in managing suite and club preparation and orders for baseball.
- Assist in planning and preparation of the Powercat Auction.
- Assist in planning and execution of special events in K-State Athletics’ premium areas such as, team banquets and student-athlete graduation receptions.
- Lead and manage all aspects of rental events in the Shamrock Zone.
- Assist in hiring, scheduling, and training of Hospitality & Events Ambassadors (part-time employees).
- Oversee and manage facility tours and on-field photo requests.
- Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One year of working in events, hospitality and/or customer service
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of working in events and hospitality
- Experience in managing and hiring gameday staff
- Experience in working in events and hospitality in NCAA Div I athletics or professional sports
Other Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to promote and demonstrate respect, collaboration and friendly customer service in all working relationships and situations
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
- Must be able to travel as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license at all times

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
$40,000 to $45,000
