Student Programs Coordinator

About This Role

The Student Services Coordinator is responsible for providing a variety of support services to help TRIO/Educational Support Services (ESS) participants attain their educational and personal goals. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for coordinating educational enrichment programs to enhance participant's skills in writing, navigating post-secondary coursework, degree planning, and preparation for graduate school admissions.

About Us

A program within Student Belonging, TRIO Educational Supportive Services (ESS) is a federally funded TRIO program which provides a comprehensive support community for students who are first generation, income-limited, and/or have a documented disability. ESS provides FREE services designed to help students achieve academic success and graduate with their bachelor's degree.

ESS is able to accept 300 students each year and offers a number of services that assist participants with persisting year-to-year, maintaining good GPA standing, and graduating on time.

The mission of TRIO ESS is to assist students who may face barriers in higher education because of income, family educational background, and disability towards completing a bachelor’s degree.

ESS is funded by a Federal TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant from the Department of Education with additional assistance from Kansas State University.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site. On-site 5 days per week.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in related field.
• Excellent management and communication skills with the ability to work effectively and foster a cooperative environment within the department and its constituencies.
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
• Must have initiative and strong interpersonal skills for meeting the needs of the student population and for relating effectively with faculty, staff and administrators.
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Experience working with students in higher education.
• Experience with or knowledge of the Federal financial aid program and its application process
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in public speaking.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range

$42,216.00 - $53,819.00
