Recruitment Award Coordinator

About This Role

This position serves as the primary individual within the Office of Student Financial Assistance’s (OSFA’s) five (5) member scholarship unit responsible for the timely and accurate processing of general funded scholarship/waiver recruitment programs specific to newly admitted and renewable eligible students. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of professional collaboration across administrative offices and/or across business units specific to the accurate and timely delivery of financial aid or other fiscal benefits.. The incumbent must possess a robust ability to interpret and apply detailed institutional awarding criteria as well as complex federal/state student aid regulations as they integrate recruitment/retention awards into student financial student aid packages. A key feature of this position is to serve as a resident resource on the eligibility criteria associated with the institution’s recruitment awards to all staff associated with the university’s enrollment management mission as well as the general public. Working in tandem with other OSFA staff members, this position supports the office’s overall enrollment management mission of delivering student aid resources in a timely and student service friendly manner. Examples of such general duties include processing waivers targeted toward specific university charges, accounting for anticipated sponsorship awards as part of student financial aid packages, and collaborating with scholarship stakeholders both within and outside of the university.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires Bachelors Degree
  • Requires one year relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 – 3 years experience utilizing a third party, higher education student information system such as, Banner, PeopleSoft, Powerfaids, etc.
  • 2 - 3 years experience in accounting, budgeting, or similar financial tasks
  • Strong track record of collaboratively working across business units toward common mission critical outcomes.
  • Robust customer service experience requiring ability to detail/explain complex regulatory/policy rules in an administrative/office setting.
  • 1 - 2 years providing training and/or presentations to small – medium size audiences
  • Prefer experience in designing, testing, and creating business reports and/or experience extracting data utilizing query or crystal reports.
  • Prefer exposure to a large post-secondary educational institution as an employee or student.
  • 1 – 2 years robust understanding and application of federal, Title IV, student financial aid regulations

Additional licenses / registrations / certifications:

  • Individual may not be in default on a federal student loan and/or owe an overpayment on a federal student aid grant – to ensure that the individual may be issued access to various student aid databases by the U.S. Department of Education essential to completing tasks associated with this position.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
