About This Role

The Department of Finance in the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Kansas State University is seeking applicants for an Instructor position in the Finance area. The candidate will be responsible for teaching and service activities within the Department. The role will be roughly 60% teaching and 40% service.

Teaching: The desired area of teaching expertise is financial services. The individual selected will teach financial services courses as a regular part of their teaching assignment. In addition, the individual should be able to teach in a supplementary area such as principles of finance.

Service: The individual selected will also be expected to demonstrate a commitment to collegiality and shared governance. As a part of this role, the individual will undertake service for the benefit of the department or college, such as being as a advisor to a student organization, participating in academic events, engaging with students, alumni, and corporations as a representative of the department, and/or serving on departmental or college committees as needed.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must hold an MBA (preferred) or a Masters in a field similar to finance (if MBA, it must be from an AACSB-accredited university).

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience in the financial services industry (banking, insurance, real estate, et al.).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate financial concepts to an audience of students or practitioners.
  • Prior university teaching experience in finance or a related field.
  • Ability to teach in a supplementary area beyond financial services, such as principles of finance.
  • Commitment to understanding the perspectives of others both in the classroom and when collaborating with colleagues.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
