The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure track or clinical track, assistant or associate professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine. The successful candidate should be committed to academia and dedicated to contributing to a high-quality teaching program. The successful candidate will be joining a service of three other internists and will be expected to participate in clinical service, veterinary and graduate student instruction, and collaborative research in support of the academic missions of the College, Department and Veterinary Health Center. Directed clinical service activities include management of referral internal medicine cases, emergencies, and consults within the VHC, as well as mentoring of house officers and students in patient evaluation and management. Clinical Assistant Professor – SA Emergency
The Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Health Center, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a full time clinical, 1-year, renewable appointment as a Small Animal Emergency Clinician (SAEC). Candidates must hold a DVM degree or equivalent. Internship training or three years of experience in small animal practice is preferred. Advanced training in emergency and critical care is valued, but not required. The SAEC will work with house officers, senior students and technical staff caring for small animal patients after hours. Senior faculty will provide consultation and back-up assistance to the SAEC. In addition to clinical care, the SAEC will provide clinical and didactic instruction for senior students on Small Animal Emergency rotation and emergency clinical services. Evening, overnight and week-end duties are a requirement of this position and shared among the SAECs. This position represents a 100% appointment in clinical service and teaching.

This position holds many engaging responsibilities including helping to provide vital care for critical patients, operating medical equipment, and performing or assisting in technical procedures. Nurses on this team assist in day-to-day responsibilities like monitoring medical records, organizing technical work, maintaining equipment and supply statuses, as well as coordinating animal treatments.
