The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Driver/Washroom Operator for the laundry department. This role will oversee the following:
- Oversees the washroom and serves as the primary wash operator.
- Operates washing machines and performs daily preventative maintenance tasks.
- Drives the laundry van and golf cart to pick up and deliver laundry from the barracks, infirmary and other campus locations.
- Loads and unloads laundry bundles; tracks laundry to ensure it is returned to the correct location.
- Checks care labels and prepares garments for cleaning and spot treats stains.
- Opens the laundry plant and starts up equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and valid driver’s license. Ability to understand and follow garment care labels. Ability to operate laundry equipment. Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Must be able to lift fifty pounds, stand, squat, bend, push, and pull. Ability to communicate effectively and keep accurate records. Ability to use judgement and initiative to complete routine work without constant supervision.
