Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for an internal only, Senior Financial Aid Counselor in the Financial Aid Office.  This position will serve as a traditional financial aid counselor. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for the following:

• Manages Federal ROTC programs from the Army, Navy/Marine, and Air Force. Work includes audits of tuition and fee charges as well as communication with both on and off campus departments.
• Assist with administration of institutional scholarship programs.
• Ensures records compliance with audit requirements.
• Performs need analysis, verification, packaging aid and other procedures necessary to deliver financial aid to students. Counsels students and parents regarding financial aid concerns and conducts outreach programs both on and off campus. Essential 

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to represent the interest of the office with diplomacy. Evidence of strong organizational management and problem-solving skills are required. Demonstrated data processing, reporting and data analysis skills acquired through a combination of prior work experience and education. This position will require independent decision making relevant to programs administered. Receives limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education financial aid experience strongly preferred. Fluency with ERP software like Banner and reporting tools like Argos a plus.
