Tenure-Track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Accounting

The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Accounting at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level, beginning Fall 2027.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting.
  • Maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status through ongoing high-quality peer-reviewed publications and other scholarly activities, in accordance with Baker School of Business criteria.
  • Advise and mentor accounting majors, supporting their academic, professional, and ethical development.
  • Actively promote the accounting program both within the institution and externally through professional engagement.
  • Participate in normal service activities, including departmental and school-level committee work.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • An earned doctorate in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution (ABD candidates will be considered for the assistant professor level if the dissertation defense is expected before employment begins).
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Preferred:

  • Active professional licensure (e.g., CPA, CMA).
  • Professional experience in accounting or a related field.
  • A record of or potential for publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed academic journals.
