The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Seamstress. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of industrial sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and the ability to install patches, recondition uniforms, and perform alterations.

• Will be responsible for performing alterations on trousers, changes on coats to include adjusting sleeves, replacing collars, and sewing on buttons, hooks, rank chevrons and class stripes.
• Will assist with mending tears and rips in clothing. Responsible for repairs and alterations to cadet uniforms, military, and employee uniforms.
• Performs one or any combination of sewing as well as blind stitch, post, sleeve, cylinder and hand-sewing techniques.
• Performs other related duties as determined by supervisor.
• Candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability to perform uniform alterations and repairs.

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must have a minimum of 3 years sewing experience
• Knowledge of industrial sewing machines, and hand sewing techniques
• Experience performing alterations
• Customer service skills

Preferred:

• Reconditioning uniforms
