The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is accepting applications for a Program Manager and Events Coordinator in the Krause Center for Leadership and Ethics (KCLE). This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting the college mission of educating and developing principled leaders by managing programs, coordinating events, and overseeing routine operations and resources.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

  • Coordinate staff schedules and center activities in partnership with the KCLE Director.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, escalating as needed.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to support continuous improvement.
  • Oversee routine administrative functions in a dynamic and evolving work environment.

Financial Management

  • Perform budgetary planning and reconciliation across multiple operating and endowed accounts.
  • Manage Banner Finance tasks (e.g., purchase and travel requisitions, reimbursements, temp hires, dual employment submissions).
  • Maintain accurate financial records.
  • Coordinate with The Citadel Foundation.
  • Reconcile purchasing card and travel accounts.
  • Track procurement and inventory.

Honor Committee Support

  • Provide administrative support to The Citadel Cadet Honor Committee.
  • Schedule venues and meals for cadet honor training.
  • Manage documentation, special orders, and honor-related correspondence.
  • Maintain manual and electronic records for honor proceedings.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan and coordinate all major KCLE events, including:
    • Leadership Day
    • Senior Leadership Integration Seminars
    • Junior Ethics Enrichment Experience Seminars
    • Service-Learning events and activities
    • Annual Honor Conference
  • Responsibilities include venue reservations, catering, transportation, production of training materials, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Annual Honor Conference Management

  • Manage all aspects of the Honor Conference including:
    • Coordinating meetings and briefings.
    • Managing logistics (hotels, venues, travel, vendors, contracts).
    • Creating agendas, programs, name tags, signage, and marketing materials.
    • Handling communication, RSVP tracking, registration, and hospitality for attendees and speakers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning, program coordination, or project management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with statistical reporting.
  • Familiarity with higher education operations or leadership development programs.
  • Experience working with students, cadets, or young adults.

Position Details

  • Initial Status: Full-time temporary (onboarding period)
  • Hourly Rate: $25/hour
  • Potential for Permanent Role: Eligible for transition to a permanent position within six months
  • Permanent Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000 (commensurate with experience)
