About the role:
Join our ISS team at Brisbane Airport, employed on a Permanent Full-Time basis. Reporting to the General Manager of People & Culture, this true operational HR generalist role will be responsible for all People & Culture activities across our aviation security operations within the airport precinct. This position is a key leadership role in the contract and is a key partner, support and guide in all things related to P&C including end-to-end recruitment & onboarding, learning & development, reward & recognition, employee relations and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the site leadership team to provide HR and safety guidance across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and advise on workforce planning through close collaboration with various internal functions including recruitment, RTO, site training and rostering teams.
- Provide advice on the interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement and ISS Policies and Procedures.
- Manage complex ER matters including, but not limited to, workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, performance management and employee grievance processes.
- Represent ISS in meetings and negotiations with employees and Unions to ensure a prosperous relationship.
- Develop and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders including site leader’s client representatives and union representatives.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and devise ways for stronger connection between team members and site leadership to boost morale and improve employee retention.
- Promote the ISS Cultural Calendar by implementing key Diversity and Inclusion activities for the team across the site.
- Implement ISS P&C programs, including training, performance appraisals and reward and recognition.
- Provide advice and support in all HSE matters at site in consultation with the State HSE Manager whilst ensuring regulatory HSE obligations are met.
- Develop and implement people and safety initiatives ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational requirements.
- Drive a positive operational culture that fosters open communication and demonstrates a commitment to employee safety, wellbeing and engagement by regularly hosting team meetings and delivering toolbox talks.
- Work closely with the General Manager - Aviation Security, General Manager - People & Culture (QLD) and the wider People & Culture leadership team.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or similar (desirable).
- Previous experience in an Aviation/Airport not required but advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in delivering people advice and solutions that meet operational and strategic needs.
- Proven leadership capability managing people & culture requirements within a dynamic operating environment with a large frontline workforce.
- Ability to pivot focus to manage competing demands within a fast paced, high-pressure working environment.
- Sound understanding of incident and investigation procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Possess excellent organisational, time management and effective verbal/written communication skills.
- Flexibility, resilience and willingness to adapt to and embrace change.
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification (ASIC) card.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
