About the role:

We're looking for a casual Kitchen Hand to join our team at Northern Hospital (Epping).

The role:

• Able to work 6:30am to 11:30am shifts.
• Assisting with basic food preparation and plating of meals under direction.
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain strict hygiene standards.
• Washing dishes, trays, and crockery in line with infection prevention and control practices.
• Supporting the set-up and dismantling of food service areas for meal periods.
• Assisting Food Service Attendants and Menu Monitors to ensure meals are delivered on time and in good condition.
• Following all safety guidelines to protect self, staff, and patients.

About you

• Previous experience in a food services, catering, or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, safe food handling, and HACCP standards.
• Awareness of infection prevention and control procedures in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in a hospital or clinical food service environment is desired.
• Understanding of dietary codes, nutritional requirements, and patient-centred meal delivery.
• Completion of training in food safety or environmental hygiene.
• Police Clearance, or ability to obtain, is essential.
• Evidence of immunisation for current influenza is essential.
