ISS is seeking experienced and motivated Aviation Security Managers to join our leadership team at Brisbane Airport.

About the Role
As an Aviation Security Manager, you will provide leadership across a diverse operational workforce responsible for protecting critical aviation infrastructure and supporting the safe facilitation of thousands of domestic and international travellers every day.
You will lead operational teams, drive workforce performance, maintain compliance with aviation security legislation and regulations, and build a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
This role requires a confident and engaging leader who can effectively balance operational delivery, people leadership, security risk management and customer service outcomes within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage aviation security operations to ensure safe, secure and efficient service delivery.
- Drive a strong culture of safety, security, compliance and operational excellence.
- Develop, coach and support frontline leaders and operational teams to achieve performance objectives.
- Ensure compliance with aviation security legislation, regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Monitor operational performance and implement initiatives that improve efficiency, productivity and service standards.
- Lead investigations into security incidents, operational issues and compliance matters, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Maintain strong working relationships with airport stakeholders, regulators, clients and internal support teams.
- Support workforce planning, resource allocation and operational readiness activities.
- Analyse operational and compliance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Support regulatory audits, inspections and emergency response activities.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiencies, security outcomes and customer experience.
About You
You are an experienced operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. You possess strong leadership and communication skills, can build high-performing teams and can influence positive outcomes across a diverse stakeholder group.
You have exception workforce management and planning skills ensuring resources are in place, qualified and performing at the highest standards to meet operational demands.
You are customer-focused, safety-driven and committed to delivering exceptional operational outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of aviation security.
You are a team player and work with your colleagues and senior leadership to implement change and work collaboratively to achieve operational outcomes and enhance customer service, security outcomes and compliance.
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Demonstrated leadership experience in aviation, security, transport, defence, emergency services, government or other regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of operational management, risk management and compliance principles.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams across a shift environment.
- Strong workforce management, operational planning and deployment of resources in a high volume fast past environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
- Experience conducting investigations, audits or operational reviews.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer literacy across Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
- Current Queensland Security Licence or ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Current ASIC, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Qualifications in Security Management, Business Management, Leadership, Risk Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
