Position Summary:

As a Student Assistant for the University of Alaska Land Management Office, you will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills in real estate. We will gladly work around your class schedule, and have positions available in Anchorage and Fairbanks.

You will be a part of a small, dynamic team that generates > $5 million in revenue each year by managing ~150,000 acres of land to support the University of Alaska, including funding the UA Scholars program.

To thrive in this role you must understand how to handle confidential information. Have the ability for attention to detail, possess organizational skills, and have effective oral and written communication skills. With the ability to positively collaborate with staff. Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and preferably some experience with SharePoint. You will be expected to perform the job duties independently.

Preferred experience includes office-based software, scanner/printer equipment, marketing/social media marketing, and website management. Having prior experience relating to land or property management is also great.

Minimum Qualifications:

You must be enrolled in the university system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average or approval from the chancellor or the chancellor’s designee.

Position Details:

This is a part-time temporary student position, starting pay is $14.96 per hour, up to 20 hours per week while school is in session. Compensation is commensurate with experience and type of work assigned. Additional hours may be available during winter/summer breaks.

This position can be located on the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks or the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage. Positions will have flexible hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

This is a pooled position, which means the position remains open over the entire academic year and applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis. Multiple positions may be hired, as needed, throughout the year. The review process will begin immediately.
