The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) College of Liberal Arts is seeking a talented and motivated Staff Writer to join our CLA Public Information Officer team. Responsibilities include writing engaging content for various platforms, collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to highlight the college's achievements through news articles, press releases, and similar outlets, and acting as editor-in-chief for Clarity Magazine.

To thrive in this position, the ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and editing skills, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to work well under pressure while meeting deadlines consistently.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, English or a related field and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha campus in Fairbanks, although hybrid and remote work arrangements within the United States may be considered. This is a part-time (20 hours per week), non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
