This temporary tutor job posting is unique as multiple campuses within the College of Indigenous Studies may be hiring from this pool of applicants. Tutoring helps college students by assisting them with academic success strategies. The primary responsibilities of a tutor is to support students to become more independent learners, persist in college, and reach their goals. Tutors provide individual and/or group tutoring to students across a broad range of courses based on their areas of expertise. Tutors meet with students to clarify and review concepts taught in class, explain processes, and help students solve specific problems.
To thrive as a temporary tutor, experience working with students in a tutoring capacity is essential. This includes collaboration with students and working with students to help them understand key concepts. Assist students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of college coursework in a related field and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This is a part-time, temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on the UA temporary salary schedule, Grade 74, based on education and experience. Please note our rural campuses have a geographic differential that will be incorporated into the final salary amount.
