Position Summary:

We are searching for an individual who is technically proficient, organized, detail oriented, and wants to be part of a team. The selected candidate will be expected to operate with a high level of discretion and judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.

The University of Alaska Anchorage Board of Regents named UAA the health campus of the entire UA system. The College of Health (COH) is at the forefront of educating students to become doctors, nurses, and other health care and public health professions and researchers. The college is comprised of academic, research, and service units focused on the state’s top health priorities.

Successful applicants will have knowledge of methods of organization, research, and analysis. Ability to comprehend written material and analyze, interpret, and apply complex policies, rules and regulations relating to the administration of COH and make responsible decisions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups and to work successfully as a member of a team. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to organize and present facts and opinions. Ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions. Ability to develop and implement policy and processes. Ability to lead, provide guidance, training, and direction to staff, assign and review work for conformance to policy and practice. Knowledge of how personnel actions impact fiscal management. Thorough understanding of the UNAC Collective Bargaining Agreement, the UAA Faculty Evaluation Policies and Procedures (FEPPs), and the College of Health evaluation guidelines (FEGs). Working knowledge of academic organization, university structure, academic ranks, disciplines, and types of advanced degrees, human resources policies and processes. Ability to manage and prioritize a large number of tasks according to deadlines. Proficiency with spreadsheets, document templates, and workflow processes (such as DocuSign). Ability and judgment to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and four years progressively responsible experience in an environment related to faculty affairs, human resources, or compliance professions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
