Position Summary:

Adjunct faculty position for the School of Allied Heatlh. The College of Health (COH), one of seven UAA schools and colleges, is a major center for development and delivery of professional, career and technical, community, and continuing education programs. Knowledge of accepted instruction methods. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Public speaking skills. Customer service skills.

Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, expertise and experience relevant to the effective teaching of their specific field and potential for providing high quality instruction to a diverse undergraduate student population. Must possess interpersonal skills to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, faculty, administration and the general public.

Distance delivery is an important part of the UAA Program; applicant must have the ability to provide classroom instruction and/or clinical teaching in courses pertinent to health fields in a traditional and distant delivery environment. Distance instructional design support is available. Candidate must be capable of enhancing community partnerships with health care partners. Experience in curriculum development, web-based course design and delivery, technology use in the classroom, as well as didactic classroom instruction is preferred. Experience in clinical education of students and clinical sites, student evaluation, advising and counseling in professional discipline are desired.

Experience leading or working in a diversified workforce in a multi-cultural setting.

Significant experience in health-related field required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Goose Lake Campus campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a part-time, for credit, adjunct faculty position. Salary is based on experience, as well as the number of previous semesters taught within the University of Alaska.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.

This is an at-will, union represented adjunct position, and may be canceled based upon the needs of the university.
