Position Summary:
This is a union represented position. Responsible for supporting the successful operations of the general services provided by Facilities Services Department of Maintenance & Operations. This position is under L6070, Crafts & Trades Collective Bargaining Unit and is subject to payment of union dues and agency fees on a biweekly basis.
We are seeking two skilled individuals for Utilities Laborer positions. The ideal candidate should be proficient with hand and power tools, able to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects. Responsibilities include following written instructions, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, and managing maintenance, cleaning, and debris removal. The role requires working in extreme weather conditions, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, and handling hazardous materials and industrial waste. Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, and effective collaboration with team members are essential.
2+ years’ construction or moving industry experience preferred, documented employment in such fields or 2 years experience in another general labor position or positions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Apprentice level or equivalent certification; or a minimum of six years multi-trade experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High school diploma/GED preferred. Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures. Valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Salary Information: MSW4 /Step 1 $22.19/hr. (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule).
