Position Summary:
The Arctic Coastal Geoscience Lab (ACGL) needs your expertise and leadership in coordinating its research activities across different teams and communities engaged at the forefront of Arctic coastal science. The ACGL has been in operation for nearly a decade working to fulfill its threefold mission to advance scientific knowledge regarding Arctic coastal processes and hazards; increase learning and research opportunities for UAF students and Tribal staff; and to conduct long-term actionable research projects that lead to tangible outcomes for community partners and stakeholders.

To Thrive in this role the applicant should be an excellent communicator and manager with research and management experience in the area of geospatial sciences, data management, and coastal hazard assessment. To thrive in this position you will need to be a versatile problem solver able to adapt to changing circumstances. You will also need to effectively mentor and guide undergraduate and graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and one year experience in a field relevant to the research, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria.
Position Details:
This position will be physically located at the UAF campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. The successful finalist will be expected to report to duty at the UAF office on the first day of employment.
This position is full-time, Grade 79, term-funded, exempt, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, based on education and experience.
