The University of Alaska (UAA) Aviation Technology Division invites applications for an aviation maintenance position for the Aviation Technology Flight School. As a mechanic in the Aviation Technology Division you will be responsible for performing the duties of an FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization conducting required maintenance & preventative maintenance of UAA Flight Training Aircraft including 50-hour inspections, 100-hour inspections, annual, and phase inspections. This position is responsible for debriefing pilots concerning any aircraft malfunction. Running and taxiing aircraft under power, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft. Additionally, you will perform the full range of repair and testing of aircraft systems, assemblies and surfaces, determining if aircraft components require repair, replacement or re-calibration, and requesting parts and conducting repairs as required. |

The Director also provides outreach and collaboration with community partners, including employers, public entities, Native corporations, and the Sitka Tribe of Alaska. Additionally, under the direction of the UAS Provost (chief academic officer located in Juneau), the Sitka Campus Director works with UAS deans and directors to collaborate on regional academic and administrative strategies. The Director furthermore provides leadership and vision for the campus in alignment with the UAS’ mission, strategic and assessment plan, UA Board of Regents policy, and university regulations. The Director also assists in promoting philanthropic giving and alumni engagement in support of campus programs and services.

Additional duties include daily reconciliation of all charges incurred through the FS Warehouse, participation in annual inventory, file maintenance and records management. |
