Period of Appointment
Fixed term for 12 months.
Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Undertake comprehensive assessment and treatment planning for high-risk family violence offenders.
- Provide evidence based one on one counselling and best practice interventions to family violence offenders as required.
- Participate in case review and peer supervision framework for staff working with family violence offenders.
- Work collaboratively with the Learning and Development Manager and Team Leaders to provide training, expert advice and case management support to Community Corrections Officers working with family violence offenders.
- Maintain offender case notes, records and administrative information and prepare formal assessments and other reports in accordance with relevant practice standards.
- Liaise and build relationships with external stakeholders who work with family violence offenders and victims. Identify, develop, build and maintain new and existing referral pathways that address family violence relevant risks and help support community and victim-survivor safety.
- Work with stakeholders and represent Community Corrections across a diverse range of forums to implement practice changes arising from the Family Violence Reform Bill 2021, including reviewing progress, recommending and implementing improvements to practice, policy and legislation as required.
- Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant industrial award or agreement and in accordance with the skills, competency and training of the occupant.
Essential Requirements
- A degree of at least 3 years duration in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling or equivalent as provided by a recognised university.

- Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
- Disciplinary action in previous employment.
