Job description:

The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for the Tasmanian Anaesthetic Training Program (TATP) Senior Registrar/Provisional Fellowship vacancies.

The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for the Tasmanian Anaesthetic Training Program (TATP) Senior Registrar/Provisional Fellowship vacancies.

Through the TATP, provisional fellowship positions are available at the Royal Hobart Hospital and Launceston General Hospital.  These positions are approved by ANZCA for provisional fellowship.  All positions can be for 12 months, with the potential for longer appointments.  6 month appointments may be considered.

Tasmania offers excellent general provisional fellowships with diverse, ongoing clinical experiences unmatched by many interstate centres.  Tasmanian hospitals offer a comprehensive and ongoing exposure to obstetrics, paediatrics, trauma, and tertiary level services including neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery.  The range and consistency of exposure to broad clinical areas allows successful applicants to achieve high levels of clinical competence and confidence.

Additionally, Tasmania provides a responsive and individualised approach to provisional fellowship and can support interests in many fields of clinical and professional practice including perioperative medicine; learning, teaching and simulation; welfare and, environment and sustainability.  Candidates can discuss their specific needs and interests with the TATP for consideration.

Provisional Fellowship positions in Tasmania provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to develop broad skills required for successful independent specialist practice on completion of their FANZCA. The range of clinical exposure combined with opportunities to develop leadership skills, collaboration and mentorship from collegial departments and strong teaching, support the provisional fellow to develop the necessary management and communication skills to complement their clinical competence.  These appointments are highly rewarding positions in a friendly supportive department that promotes excellence in practice, collaboration, education, and research.

Provisional fellowship positions in the TATP can be a great foundation for opportunities to progress to specialist practice within Tasmania.
