Job description:

You will play a critical role in translating the Department’s strategy into tactical people initiatives.

As an experienced and confident Business Partner, you will play a critical role in translating the Department’s strategy into tactical people initiatives, providing strong internal support, and driving people and culture functional excellence and process improvement.   

The Role

The Business Partners within People and Culture play a key role in transforming and delivering  strategic value to the Department. These newly created roles provide an exciting opportunity to drive exceptional organisational performance with leadership teams whilst supporting various portfolios. 

Reporting to the Business Partner Lead, you will play a pivotal role in providing support to the Departments’ Executive Teams and other key stakeholders, providing leadership, coaching, and strategic advice.

Your ability to build strong partnerships and effectively manage key stakeholder relationships will be critical to your success in this role. In this role you will:  

  • Design and implement effective strategies, programs, and initiatives to help improve performance, productivity, retention, and the workplace culture of the portfolio you support, in line with the People and Culture strategy and the portfolio’s strategy.
  • Build and develop strategic, trusted alliances and collaborate with executives, key stakeholders, interest groups, client agencies, and service providers to gain insights into their needs, challenges, and opportunities, and offer tailored solutions accordingly.   
  • Provide high level specialist coaching and authoritative advice to executives and their leadership teams on a broad range of people management topics, with an emphasis on creating and sustaining an engaged and high-performing workforce.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within People and Culture to provide strategic  support back to the business.

What will you bring to the role? 

  • Experience in a Business Partner role or similar HR position. 
  • Proven experience in driving People and Culture strategies aligned with business goals. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, coaching and leadership skills. 
  • Ability to deliver value-added insights using People and Culture metrics and trends. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading and executing successful People and Culture projects.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing from ASAP

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $124,371- $130,905 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline

  • Current Driver’s Licence
