Job description:

An opportunity is available for an experienced Podiatrist to join the Hospital@Home multidisciplinary team. The Hospital@Home service is a hospital avoidance intervention allowing patients to remain in their home and attend a local clinic to receive high level specialist care.

The Role:

The Podiatry department in Hobart is ready to welcome you to its team. The department has a comprehensive induction program, ongoing professional support and supervision, monthly in-services, a funding allowance for continuing professional development, a variety of research interests and great working relationships with other Allied Health professions. There are 22 Podiatrists and Allied Health Assistants working across 3 main service streams of inpatients, outpatient and community, and there is a place for you in our team to grow, develop and belong.

As part of our team delivering high quality Podiatry Services, you will:

  • promote, develop and provide Podiatry services in accordance with professional standards, best practice and evidence, to a predominately specialist or complex caseload, in order to improve foot health outcomes for patients.
  • provide clinical direction and professional supervision and support to Level 1-2 Podiatrists and undergraduate podiatry students.
  • assist with the development of podiatry clinical services through planning, evidence-based practice, quality improvement and research activities.

An opportunity is available for an experienced Podiatrist to join the Hospital@Home multidisciplinary team. The Hospital@Home service is a hospital avoidance intervention allowing patients to remain in their home and attend a local clinic to receive high level specialist care. Most of the podiatry service will be conducted at the Glenorchy Community Health Centre, H@H clinics. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a new multidisciplinary initiative.

The team:

The Podiatry South team is based in the Hobart CBD, with outpatient clinics located closely to the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).  

The inpatient podiatry team delivers services to the RHH and Repat Hospital and works closely with medical, nursing and other allied health teams.

There are 22 Podiatrists and Allied Health Assistants working across 3 main service streams of inpatients, outpatient and community, and there is a place for you in our team to grow, develop and belong.

Details of Appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary:

$106,966 - $123,013 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum 
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Podiatry Board of Australia

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • 5 years clinical podiatry experience or demonstrated ability to work in a senior position.
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Holds or working towards post graduate studies
