The role:
The Smithton District Hospital are seeking a motivated Cook (Non Trade) to provide high standard food preparation and presentation of meals to our patients, community clients and staff.
The successful applicant will ensure individualised dietary needs are provided and all meal preparation and delivery meet the standards set out in the Food Safety Plan. They will also monitor the use and storage of food, perishable goods and other consumables in accordance with the standards set out in the Food Safety plan.

Smithton District Hospital (SDH) is small sized sub-acute public hospital located in Smithton Tasmania with 12 inpatient beds. It services the whole Circular Head region with a catchment population of 8000 people.
Details of Appointment
Permanent, part time shift-worker position working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from November 2024.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Salary: $60,666 - $63,222 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022

- Certificate II in Hospitality
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
