This Hobart based role delivers high level technical support to the design, development, installation, maintenance, upgrade and operational administration of the IT applications and associated integration infrastructure and systems architecture.

Job description:

The IT Consultant (Enterprise Systems) works in the Enterprise Systems Team and provides consultancy and technical support to enterprise applications.

The Team:

Enterprise Systems is a sub-team of Digital Enterprise Services in Health ICT responsible for enterprise (non-clinical) systems, platforms and integration. The team provides support to a range of corporate applications used in many business units across the agency. They maintain and provide support for systems and infrastructure that underpin other systems (including clinical applications). The team is statewide and works closely with business units across the DoH.

The Role:

The IT Consultant (Enterprise Systems) will:

  • Deliver high level technical support to the design, development, installation, maintenance, upgrade and operational administration of the IT applications and associated integration infrastructure and systems architecture.
  • Undertake a consultative role to business stakeholders by providing high level technical advice on application architecture, selection, commissioning, integration/interconnectivity and operational management and support.
  • Provide leadership, management and coordination of technical activities required to develop, commission, interface, maintain and support IT applications, systems, and integration frameworks.

You will need:

  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly translate technical talk to non-technical staff and stakeholders in a meaningful manner.
  • Extensive experience in technical architecture and application development, including support and administration of enterprise-level applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work constructively as a senior member of a team, including experience in working effectively within a political environment subject to work pressure, competing priorities, ambiguity and change.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 12 November 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award

Eligibility:

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Minimum of three years’ practical experience in a relevant discipline, using contemporary and recognised frameworks
  • Appropriate technical certification in a relevant specialist discipline
  • A current driver's licence.

  • Some regular out of hours work, to meet specific needs or deadlines, may be required
  • Intrastate and interstate may be required
