2026 Hospital Pharmacist Internships - $77,737 per annum

Permanent Full Time – Multiple Positions

To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?

You could start your Pharmacy career anywhere. What’s different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. You will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients and your colleagues, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.

This is an opportunity to secure yourself a permanent position in a highly respected hospital pharmacy service, where your successful completion of the internship, and registration as a pharmacist, will see you continue your career journey with us. There will be no need to apply for another position.

Here you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals. After a hard day at work, you don’t have to sit in traffic for an hour. You decompress with a wander through your beautiful home city, a relaxed drive through stunning natural scenery, on you put on your boots and tell it to a mountain.

We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise that sees our Pharmacists closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. Across the state, we provide clinical pharmacy services within our four major hospitals, as well as the manufacturing of products, chemotherapy preparation, clinical trials, outpatient dispensing and therapeutic drug monitoring. Our research program is highly-developed, with many of the team presenting each year at the Advanced Pharmacy Australia National Conference, Australia's largest scientific pharmacy event.

Our hospitals are accredited recognised nationally for their Pharmacist Residency training program, which is offered to all pharmacists who complete their intern training. Completion of a Residency Program fast-tracks the skills and development of pharmacists, opening up a world of future career options and professional growth.

You’ll begin your career journey amongst a mix of passionate locals and new Tasmanian adventurers who will welcome your energy and experiences into the group dynamic. We actively promote improved medication safety and equity of access to pharmacy services, both of which are so crucial to improving the lives of the people in the diverse and inclusive communities where we live and work.

We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our culture. As a group, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals. Upon completion of your internship you will have access to our Pharmacist Residency Program.
