The Role:
The Project Manager – Preventive Health Strategy will lead the development of a twenty-year preventive health strategy for Tasmania in consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders across all levels of Government, NGOs, businesses and the community.
The overall focus of this role will be to work in partnership with community and all levels of government to improve the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians.
The Project Manager will develop and evaluate policies, programs and initiatives within the Agency and across government that influence strategic directions in Tasmania to reduce chronic disease, promote health and wellbeing, and reduce health inequities across the population.
You will need:
- Significant expertise and experience in the management of complex projects, including generation and presentation of high-level documentation and reports, allocation of resources and maintenance of budget, ability to work with minimal supervision and manage workloads and the successful and timely delivery of outputs and outcomes.
- High level capacity to formulate effective strategies to improve population health and wellbeing outcomes for the Tasmanian population within the complex environment of preventive health and health and human services delivery.
- High-level analytical and research skills, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of up to twelve (12) months.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
