Job description:

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated Nurse Manager to join the Making Care Appropriate for Patients team.

The Team:

The MCAP (Making Care Appropriate for Patients) team works across the state to assist clinical areas to determine whether a patient is in the correct level of care.

The Role:

The MCAP (Making Care Appropriate for Patients) is a clinical utilisation review software tool which utilises clinical data to assist in determining whether a patient is in the correct level of care and identifies any delays to the care or within the health system.  The Nurse Manager contributes to achievement of the objectives and outcomes of the Statewide Access and Patient Care Program (SA&PFP), including the delivery of the MCAP Enhancement Project statewide.

You will need:

  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills and experience in relation to patient access and flow issues. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in contemporary nursing management practice, including clinical governance, clinical risk management, evidenced based practice, research, clinical standards, and ethics.
  • Well-developed knowledge and ability to apply project management methodologies, including change management and service development skills and experience.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $122,365 to $129,060 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
