Job description:

As a Senior Radiographer, you’ll deliver screening and diagnostic mammography services, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred care and uphold national standards.

The Team:

At BreastScreen Tasmania, we’re a passionate, statewide team committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Tasmanian women through early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Our multidisciplinary service operates across the South, North, and North-West of the state, delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care in both screening and assessment settings.

The Role:

As a Senior Radiographer, you’ll deliver screening and diagnostic mammography services, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred care and uphold national standards.

This is a dynamic time to join us. We’re building a public Diagnostic Breast Imaging service, offering the chance to be part of a significant initiative improving access to breast imaging across Tasmania. You’ll also be supported to upskill - such as through a Graduate Certificate in Breast Imaging- to perform breast ultrasound and broaden your scope.

In 2026, we’ll move into a new, purpose-built Tasmanian centre for breast imaging, designed to enhance service delivery and provide a modern, supportive work environment.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, part time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications 

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances: 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
  • A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is applicable to this role.

  • Travel and relocation assistance support may be available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia

  • Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia

  • Licensed to practice under Tasmanian Radiation Protection Act 2005 and the Radiation Protection Regulations 2016
