
The Team:
As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Services Principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
The Role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide high level support within the Tasmanian Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) team and will:
- Provide comprehensive specialist evidence-based service including assessment, care planning, treatment and management with a recovery focused, trauma informed and relational practice framework for consumers and their family and carers.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of a range of individual and group, programs and activities
- Provide leadership, direction and change management to facilitate the progression of the current Mental Health Service Strategic Plan through the implementation of the associated model of care, and relevant service policies, procedures and guidelines.
Details of Appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Classification:
Salary $114,851 - $121,886 per annum + 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
- Current Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- A minimum of 3 years current post graduate experience in mental health or relevant field
- Eating Disorder Credentialled practitioner
- Training in relevant and appropriate evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are appropriate for people with eating disorder
- Current Driver’s License.
