Our team delivers evidence-based, trauma-informed Social Work services to clients experiencing health-related or psychosocial stressors. We work across multiple community health centres and district hospitals throughout Northern Tasmania. About the Role:
Based in Launceston, you’ll work with individuals and groups in the community, as well as provide outreach services to surrounding regions and district hospitals. Travel during work hours is fully supported with access to a fleet vehicle. No two days are the same, and your work will span from 1:1 intervention to group facilitation, outreach visits, community development and integrated multidisciplinary planning.
What You’ll Bring:
You’ll be an experienced Social Worker with demonstrated skills in:
- Therapeutic counselling or medium to long-term 1:1 Social Work intervention
- Comprehensive psychosocial assessment, multidisciplinary collaboration, and care planning
- Design and facilitation of therapeutic and/or psychoeducational group programs aligned with Primary Health Care principles

Details of appointment:
Fixed term, day worker position, working 53.2 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 September 2025 until 11 February 2026.
Fixed term, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 September 2025 until 29 May 2026.
Fixed term, day worker position, working 7.6 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 September 2025 until 8 May 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. A successful applicant may negotiate to be appointed to multiple positions.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

- Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
- Full member of Australian Association of Social Workers
- Current Driver’s Licence.

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a practising social worker in a relevant field.
