Job description:

Join our recovery-focused mental health team at Millbrook Rise Centre in the scenic Derwent Valley. Collaborative care, innovation, and growth await!

The Team:

  • Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed facility, we are a consumer-centred service with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery located in the beautiful Derwent Valley.
  • New Norfolk is a picturesque 35-minute drive up the river Derwent from Hobart with free parking on site.  The Derwent Valley is the gateway to some of Tasmania's sought after experiences such as wineries, beautiful waterfalls, ski fields and the popular Maydena Mountain Bike Park. 
  • Be part of a collaborative team that works with our consumers, their friends and families in their individualised recovery journey. We have a constantly developing activities program and we welcome new staff and new ideas to contribute to the activities program at the site.  

The Role:

Provide a recovery-focused, evidence-based clinical assessment, and treatment, including the development and implementation of specialist individualised therapies, reports and programs 
 
Consult with and support other team members, mental health professionals and other Agencies regarding functional performance, skills assessment, skills acquisition, rehabilitation, and management of adult mental health problems.
 
Participate in multi-disciplinary team review of current clients, including supporting staff in the development, monitoring and evaluation of clinical outcome measures.

You will need to:

  • Undertake the delivery of quality client care services utilising evidence-based best practice and recovery principles within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
  • Provide an occupational therapy assessment and treatment service to clients of Inpatient and Extended Treatment Mental Health Services and their families or carers in relation to mental health issues and in accordance with discipline specific skills and abilities.
  • Commensurate with experience, knowledge and skill, acts as a consultant to a range of internal and external stakeholders in relation to the support and management of clients with mental health issues.
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing asap.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.

the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
