Job description:

Provide clinical leadership, expertise, and coordination, for Renal Transplantation in a multidisciplinary team located at the North West Renal Satellite Unit. The Clinical Coordinator - Renal Transplant focuses on the continual education and coordination of recipient and donor work up programs and long term follow up.

The Team:

The North West Renal Satellite Unit provides specialist renal services to patients across the North West region of Tasmania.  As part of the statewide renal service the team supports patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease across haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and renal transplantation pathways. 

The unit works closely with consultant nephrologists, multidisciplinary teams, and interstate transplant centres to deliver coordinated, safe and person-centred transplant and donation services.   The team is committed to improving access to transplantation and delivering high-quality care to the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

The Clinical Coordinator - Renal Transplant provides advanced clinical leadership and coordination of renal transplant recipient and donor work-up programs based at the North West Renal Satellite Unit. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the role works with a high level of autonomy and acts as a key point of contact for patients, families and internal and external stakeholders.

Key Duties:

Coordinating renal transplant and donor work-ups, education, investigations, liaison with transplant centres and long-term follow up.

Providing expert clinical advice, leadership, and case management within a multidisciplinary renal team.

Contributing to service development, quality improvement, data collection, and best-practice transplant care.

You will need:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical experience and knowledge in renal transplantation and chronic kidney disease.
  • Well developed leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Details of appointment:

  • Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
