Job description:

The Allied Health Professional - Psychologist Fixed-Term and Casual Employment Registers enable currently registered Allied Health Professionals to register their interest in being considered for fixed term and casual Allied Health Professional Psychologist duties within the Department of Health and Tasmanian Health Service.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking suitably qualified and motivated Psychologists who can work flexibly across Hospital Services and/or Mental Health Services to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based psychological care within a multidisciplinary environment.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Deliver comprehensive psychological assessment and evidence‑based therapeutic interventions, including individual and group modalities, to individuals across a range of acute, inpatient, outpatient and community settings

  • Provide care to people with complex presentations using best‑practice, person‑centred, recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed and culturally responsive approaches

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to case conferences, discharge planning, family meetings and coordinated care models

  • Prepare and maintain high‑quality clinical documentation and reports, including specialised reports as required, in accordance with professional, legal and organisational requirements

  • Provide consultation, advice, education and support to colleagues, patients, families and carers, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to enhance continuity and quality of care

  • Contribute specialist psychological expertise to service delivery, care planning and broader system collaboration

  • Support workforce development through supervision, education and mentoring of students and less experienced staff, as appropriate

These roles are well suited to psychologists who demonstrate strong professional judgement, adaptability and accountability, and who are committed to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care within a public health system.

Salary: $117,272 - $126,182 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia

  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
