The Role
The Specialist Medical Practitioner - Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) operates within a supportive and well structured framework. Broad operational direction is provided by the Area Manager, ADS North, with clinical governance led by the Statewide Specialty Director, ADS.
In this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and engage with key stakeholders to support the ongoing effectiveness and quality of the public and private sector Pharmacotherapy Program.
- Exercise a high degree of independent clinical judgement in the delivery of care and completion of core responsibilities.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to ethical practice in all aspects of your work.

- Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as you can join us. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant
- 💼 Salary: $222,789 – $319,701 p.a. + 12% superannuation
- 🚗 Benefits & Allowances:
- Fully maintained vehicle or motor vehicle allowance ($28,786 p.a.)
- Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
- CPD Allowance ($17,483 p.a.)
- Private Practice Scheme (35%) or allowance in lieu
- Salary packaging options ($9,010 for living expenses, $2,650 for meals/entertainment)

Access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $309,222 - $319,701 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
- Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025
