Job description:

In this position you will contribute to the development and analysis of policy and advice on intergovernmental financial matters. This position requires you to exercise judgement in your critical thinking skills and will provide you the opportunity to work on a variety of different tasks and projects. The position also plays an important role in supporting the work of more senior Branch members. As such, there is a strong focus on continuing to develop your skills, in a supportive team environment.

About You

This is a great opportunity to learn about Commonwealth‑state relations and to contribute to the development of policy advice focussed on achieving the best financial outcomes for the state. 

You are ready to apply your research and analysis skills to support policy work on complex matters related to intergovernmental financial relations and the major sources of revenue to the Government.

About the Branch

The Intergovernment and Financial Policy branch provides advice on the major sources of revenue to the Government such as the GST, own source taxation, and Australian Government grants and transfers. The branch also provides policy advice on major intergovernment agreements such as health, education, housing, disability, infrastructure, and the environment.

Hours per fortnight

Up to 73.5 - hours flexible - talk to us about how this could work for you. We are open to considering a range of flexible work options including part-time hours.

Desirable Requirements

A relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
