Job description:

Macquarie Point is a major urban renewal project for the City of Hobart on which the planned Mac Point Multipurpose Stadium is the foundational infrastructure development project for the site. As a senior member of the Corporation, develop and deliver Capital Works projects which meet client needs and provide whole of Corporation value.

Duties

1. Manage all phases of a range of Capital Works projects, including initiation of projects, briefing and management of consultants, document review, tender assessment, and budget management in accordance with industry standards and quality assurance principles.
2. Develop and maintain organisational standards of competency which enables the Program Manager, Capital Works to brief, manage and quality assure the actions of consultants and contractors on a professional basis.
3. Monitor and ensure the role and Corporation’s compliance with Treasury procurement guidelines.
4. Synthesise corporate and service delivery planning to develop and deliver optimum accommodation solutions across all asset categories.
5. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies and processes to guide all phases of the asset management lifecycle and foster their acceptance across the Corporation.
6. Provide high level specialist advice to the Executive Team in the areas of asset, contract and project management.
7. High level contribution to the continued development of a strategic approach to asset planning across the Macquarie Point site, with a particular focus on the delivery of projects including:
a. Site Infrastructure.
b. Land Development.
c. Capital Works Project Development; and
d. Capital Works Project Implementation.
8. Undertake special projects as required by the Corporation.
9. Represent the Corporation in a variety of forums and undertake high level liaison, negotiation, consultation and contract management with relevant government agencies, contractors and private sector stakeholders.
10. Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives and related training, ensuring that quality and safety improvement processes are in place and acted upon.

Desirable Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in development, project management or a related discipline and/or demonstrated experience in capital works delivery and project management.
