Job description:
The objective of this position is to contribute to the court through the provision of high level customer service and an efficient and effective range of administrative and clerical functions. including, responding to telephone and front counter customer enquiries, the listing of matters for court, the registration of court related documents, the entry of outcomes, administration of jury panels.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Working within a team of the Burnie Supreme Court Registry to receive and respond to members of the public, the legal profession, Tasmania Police and clerical staff for all general enquiries for the Registry via the front count, telephone and electronic means.
- Entry and preparation of all court documents into a range of computerised databases, for the Civil and the Criminal jurisdictions.
- Receive and receipt court related fee payments including cash, cheques and EFTPOS and daily balancing.
- Filing and general duties within the registry of Burnie as required.
- Ensure the proper and accurate recording of court proceedings and associated correspondence and administration of jury service for the region.
Pre-employment Checks

The following checks are to be conducted:
- Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
- Disciplinary action in previous employment.
- Identification check.
