Job description:
Assisting the Assistant Director Policy the position contributes to the provision of high level research, analysis, policy advice and policy development, and the delivery of strategic and business plan outcomes.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Undertake research and prepare high level policy advice on work health and safety and workers rehabilitation and compensation, and other issues of relevance to WorkSafe Tasmania.
- Develop and implement work health and safety and other policy or legislative initiatives, in accordance with the relevant WorkSafe Tasmania and Departmental strategic and business plans.
- Respond to complex enquiries from a range of individuals and organisations and liaise with stakeholders to assist in the identification of emerging issues.
- Prepare high quality documentation, working papers, reports, briefings and correspondence.
- Perform other duties as envisaged by the assigned classification under the relevant industrial award or agreement and in accordance with the skills, competence and training of the occupant.
Desirable Requirements
- A degree or tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
