Job description:
Lead a team of technical and policy staff across Tasmania and provide high level technical advice on matters related to plant biosecurity policy inclusive of risk analysis and market access in support of the Tasmanian Biosecurity System.

About the role
Lead a team of technical and policy professionals dedicated to safeguarding Tasmania’s plant industries. This senior leadership role provides high-level technical advice on plant biosecurity policy, risk analysis and market access supporting the Tasmanian Biosecurity System.
- Lead policy input for biosecurity, including pest risk analysis, import requirement, and market access.
- Develop and implement biosecurity policies, review Import Risk Analyses, and prepare submissions and briefings.
- Provide expert advice on plant biosecurity.
- Manage team resources to deliver evidence-based policy and regulations.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
Essential requirements
- A degree in science relevant to the professional duties to be undertaken, as provided by a university.
Desirable requirements
- A tertiary qualification in law.
