Job description:

The position contributes to the efficient and effective operation of the Integrity Commission by the provision of efficient, effective and considered Human Resource advice in conjunction with the Department of Justice - Human Resources (DoJ HR) business unit.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available. 

Duties

  • Provide generalist HR advice and support, including advising senior managers and other staff on matters including recruitment, injury management, WH&S, learning and development, establishment, induction, pay, leave management, change and organisational culture.
  • Coordinate the delivery of recruitment services in conjunction with DoJ HR and coordinate the onboarding including IT set up and inducting of new employees in liaison with internal and external providers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies, undertake projects and/or research and prepare a range of correspondence, submissions, briefings and reports in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate a learning and development calendar to meet the annual needs of staff as identified in the Commission’s learning and development framework and individual ongoing performance and development plans.
  • Assist the Director, Corporate Services to monitor, maintain and communicate a manual of core operational human resources procedures in line with policies from the DoJ HR and with the guidance from DoJ HR, coordinate Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) related programs, monitoring and reporting.
  • Coordinate the Commission’s personnel security vetting obligations with appropriate internal and external service providers (e.g. AGSVA).
  • Act as the Commission’s liaison / conduit with relevant service providers, both within Government and external in relation to HR matters.
  • Represent the Commission on relevant committees and working groups in relation to HR matters.
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by the Director, Corporate Services or the CEO.

Essential Requirements

The Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

The following checks are to be conducted:

  • A security vetting process to obtain Baseline security clearance (access to classified information and resources up to and including PROTECTED). This process requires the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency to collect personal information to assess suitability.
  • A pre-employment check on any disciplinary or managerial action in any previous employment.
  • Identification check.

Desirable Requirements

  1. A tertiary qualification relevant to Human Resource Management or related discipline will be highly regards and / or prior experience in a similar role.
  2. Experience working in or with the Tasmanian public sector or equivalent.
