Job description:

The Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC) is an independent statutory office responsible to the Tasmanian Minister for Education, Children and Youth. TASC is responsible for the development of appropriate standards, the accreditation of courses, and the assessment and certification of student achievement in senior secondary schooling across all educational sectors in Tasmania.

The Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC) is an independent statutory office responsible to the Tasmanian Minister for Education, Children and Youth.

TASC is responsible for the development of appropriate standards, the accreditation of courses, and the assessment and certification of student achievement in senior secondary schooling across all educational sectors in Tasmania.

Fixed-Term and Relief Clerical Assistant staff are employed by TASC, mainly comprising of 2-3 weeks work in November/December annually. Accordingly, persons interested in these roles should record their details on this register.

Essential Requirements

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Selection from the Register

Where a vacancy occurs the TASC Clerical Assistant employment register will be examined to identify those persons who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, currency and qualifications to undertake the duties of the vacancy and who will be available to work.

Where vacancies are identified and an applicant(s) are regarded as being suitable to undertake the particular appointment, a merit-based selection process will be undertaken. The selection process may involve formal interviews.
