The Team
The Intensive Family Engagement Specialist role is part of the Family Preservation Team, which supports families to strengthen parenting capacity and address concerns impacting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. The team works collaboratively with families, service providers, Agency staff and community partners to connect families with appropriate supports and help children remain safe, supported and connected to their families wherever possible.
The Family Preservation Team is child-focused, collaborative and committed to reflective and solution-focused practice, with a strong focus on achieving meaningful and sustainable outcomes for children and families.
About the Role
As an Intensive Family Engagement Specialist, you will provide consultation and advice to facilitate the delivery of the Intensive Family Engagement Service (IFES) program by non-government providers, as well as supporting the coordination and connection of families to other services within broader Family Preservation programs. This will support families to access services that meet their needs and promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
In the role, you will utilise a Signs of Safety approach and work in partnership with families, service providers, relevant Agency staff and community support services to facilitate a process of continual service improvement that ensures IFES provides a service responsive to the needs of families. You will coordinate regional referrals to the IFES program and facilitate referrals and connections to other services within broader Family Preservation programs, helping to ensure families are connected with the service response most appropriate to their needs. You will also provide ongoing support and consultation to IFES service providers and families.
