Period of Appointment
Appointment to the role is on a fixed-term flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for 12 months.
Duties
• Undertake strategy, policy and program development and management, supported by relevant research, investigation and analysis, to deliver on a broad range of Antarctic and Southern Ocean related activities and projects primarily relating to the development and implementation of the Tasmanian Antarctic Gateway Strategy.
• Represent the agency as required and deliver timely, relevant and authoritative policy and project advice on Antarctic and Southern Ocean matters of strategic priority to the Department.
• Under guidance, plan, and manage the delivery of projects using appropriate management tools and techniques to ensure milestones are achieved and outcomes delivered on time and within resource constraints.
• Prepare high level written work and correspondence which may include Ministerial correspondence, minutes, briefing papers, reports and packages as required to manage the role’s allocated tasks or as directed.
• Establish, build and maintain productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective engagement, and where relevant, that consultative processes and objectives are achieved within relevant timeframes.
• Work as part of a broad team to actively engage and contribute to the development of policy initiatives, project management and business practices that enhance the quality of team outputs.
• Develop and deliver other duties as required.
Desirable Requirements
• Experience with grant administration relating to funding (including development, deliver, tracking and reporting) to a high standard.
• A relevant bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
• Current driver licence.
